The Wedding of Bayu - Hilwa

February 2025 marked the beginning of our story. We first met at a stock investment community event held at The Neighbourhood Jakarta. That day, Hilwa came with her father, which meant our first meeting was also the first time Bayu was introduced to Hilwa’s father.

After the event, Hilwa reached out to Bayu through WhatsApp to continue spending time with the group at Kota Kasablanka Mall. From that simple meeting, our conversations continued. Over time, we began seeing each other more often, going out together, and sharing more moments along the way.

At that time, there was never an official status that defined our relationship. We simply let everything unfold naturally, getting to know each other little by little, until those moments together quietly became an important part of our journey.

Almost a year had passed since our first meeting. Throughout that time, we continued seeing each other and spending time together, even though our relationship still had no official label.

In February 2026, our journey took a more serious step. Bayu’s family traveled from Pasuruan to Bekasi, to Hilwa’s family home, to formally express their intentions and ask for Hilwa’s hand in marriage.

The meeting between our two families was warm and meaningful. Hilwa’s family welcomed Bayu’s family with kindness, and from that moment, together with our families, we agreed to continue this journey toward marriage.

What began as a simple meeting in Jakarta eventually led us to one of the most important decisions of our lives: to get married in December 2026.
